The Interview

Personality:

The first thing you have to know about Olivia is that she is that she is that she’s in it for herself, and only herself. She’s a modern day independent woman to the extreme, and its quite obvious just by simply looking at her. She very rarely relies on others to take care of her, at least not completely. She was born and raised in the lap of luxury after all, and knows how to appreciate being doted upon. That does not, however, mean that she unable to function by herself, in fact that’s quite far from the truth. She is an extremely resourceful and intelligent young woman with a hell of a lot of tricks up her sleeve. After all, Mommy and Daddy didn’t get to the top by playing honest and fair, and fortunately for her, she inherited all of their tricks.

First off, Olivia is nothing like her sisters, in fact, she’s nothing like the rest of her family. While the rest of her siblings thrive on order and direction, Liv has a different set of rules that drives her. Ever since the day she was born, Olivia has been out for herself, and only herself. She’s always been the type to believe that in this world, you’ve only got yourself. Being raised in the underworld, it all held especially true. She learned at an early age that she is the only one who has her own interests at heart, and if she sacrifices that, then she’s screwed. That’s not to say that she doesn’t know how to work with others, because that’s quite the opposite. She understands the importance of working together as a team, how two heads are usually better than one, and how the more fire power you have, the better chances you have of getting your goals done.

Fun. Nothing, including life, is worth squat unless you’re having fun while you do it. In her opinion, she was given her powers for a reason, and it definitely wasn’t to keep hidden. She has never really understood the concept behind “keeping magic a secret,” in her opinion it just seems… well, counterproductive. If you want to use your powers, no matter what the situation, use them. Who gives a d**n if mortals see? What are hey going to do? Scream? Panic? Olivia is pretty sure whatever they have to throw at her, she’ll be just fine. Her powers are strong enough for her to not only handle herself, but reverse any damage she inflicts. She’s the girl always ready for a party. Whether she’s going out with her friends, letting loose with her sisters, or enjoying a fling with a hot guy. She is more than likely the most reckless of the Taylor bunch, simply because she tends to neglect orders, given to her by anyone. She’s already an extremely intelligent and resourceful woman, and being a follower is definitely something she doesn’t do well with.

Power and strength have always been rather ambiguous terms. In the mind of a warrior, power is physical force, and strength is the amount of damage one can inflict on their enemy within a single blow. For a creature such as Olivia however, the two are measured in completely different ways. First and foremost, Olivia is extremely dangerous. While her strength may not be in the form of obliterating her foes with a single swing of her fist, the amount of damage a girl like her can inflict is far worse. Her strength however, does not lie in her physical fitness, she relies on her intellect, her cunning, and her undeniable charisma to get what she wants. She is, in almost every sense of the word, a strategic protégé, and is extremely proud about it.

History:

Born as the second daughter to a family of demonic witches, Olivia has always had a rather interesting past. From the day she born, it was foreseen that her power of projection, one of the most coveted powers, both demonically and otherwise, would indeed be sought after. It was because of this fact that the care of Olivia Taylor was probably the most calculated of the three girls. Her parents knew that if put into a random demon’s care, it was very likely that her powers would be at risk of being stolen. After all, who wouldn’t want the power of projection? So, instead of sending her off to a random upper level demon, they decided to hand her over to the most powerful demon in the underworld, the demon would have no use for her powers, and the demon that would prove to be the most trusted of them all. Her very own father, and his the rest of his Triad council.

As a child, love and affection came to her in a very odd, very strange form. She was, for all intents and purposes, a child of the Triad’s court, and was treated as such by demons everywhere. However, it’s common knowledge that The Triad can not love, nor can they nurture a child’s life the way any other being can or should. That didn’t, however, mean that he didn’t care. Raising a child to The Triad meant making that child stronger, and that’s exactly what they did. They made sure that the girl could not only use her powers expertly in battle, but he wanted to make sure she could fight, hand to hand, with them as well. She was forced to battle countless demons in the most cruel conditions. She would have to fight them blind folded, under various hexes, even with her own powers bound. While it was a cruel way to raise a little girl, The Triad knew that it was the only way to prepare her for battling the forces of good.

For the majority of her childhood, life had been a pretty luxurious one, or as luxurious as one could be in her position. It wasn’t until she turned 13 did things change. A loyal Triad advisors, and an upper level demon, had been plotting to kill Olivia and take her power of projection for himself. So, he took her to cavern in the underworld, told her that The Triad had ordered her to stay there for her next mission. Instead, when Olivia’s back a was turned, the demon pulled out an Athame and went to stab her in the back with it. Luckily, the girl was a trained fighter, and could sense the move coming. She eventually managed to use the demon’s Athame against him, stabbing him in the heart and eventually stealing his powers.

The betrayal hit Olivia hard. Not only had she felt like she had been betrayed by the Advisor, who had actually been someone she really trusted, but she also felt as if The Triad had it in for her too. So, she decided to get out. She left the underworld and went on the run for a couple of years. In all honesty, she’d managed to survive quite well on her own. Even for a thirteen year old girl, she was powerful enough to fend for herself quite easily. It wasn’t until she turned sixteen, was she found by her older sister, who had apparently had a heard from the underworld that she was on the run. She was convinced, however reluctantly, to trust her family, the people who would have her back no matter what. So, the sixteen year old went with Sasha and Bianca to their manor, a rather fancy property bought and paid for by their witch mother. Fast forward a good 8 years, and Olivia has since then graduated from college. She still has sour feelings toward her father and the his demons of the Underworld, as well as the Triad for the betrayal when she was young. While she has no problem using her mother’s wealth and name to get ahead in the mortal world, she is rather… shall we say, reluctant to submit to anyone magically.

Weaknesses:

Unfortunately, with all of these useful little tricks up her sleeve, the girl isn’t invincible, nor is she without her flaws. One of her drawbacks is her selfishness. While no, the girl has no problem working with others to reach her goals, she hates compromising, and hates to “share” even more. It takes a hell of a lot to get this girl to trust or even appreciate you enough to give you any portion of her spoils. Because of this, her plans and decisions are quite predictable, and often times gets her on the bad side of many old allies. She has a select few friends who she would never betray, and the rest of the people who work with her tend to turn out worse than before they went in.
